A Very Localised Indecision '09

It is generally acknowledged that I have a problem when it comes to decision making. If confronted with, say, two types of cereal in the morning or a range of empty chairs at a cafe I have to go run and find a large heavy table to crouch under, rocking back and forth until the white specks stop clouding my vision.
Well, not quite, but pretty damn close. So the fact that I have some Borders vouchers left after buying all the cd's on my wishlist is a problem. I feel this money should go to comedy, because there's shit all laughter in my life right now, but there are to many fabulous choices so I have retreated to my 'happy place' and beg of you to make it for me! Tell me what to buy! I have enough money for just about two DVDs.
(Also, I was shown the light in the form of the random paragraph generator and am now spending a frightening amount of time smashing various names into it and reading altogether way too much into what comes out. On the one hand I am getting in touch with my inner child and the love affair I had with words when I was young, but on the other hand I have discovered that my inner child is a four-year-old manic depressive on acid. Who can read porn into anything. So because I have too much time on my hands, I made some random paragraphs for each option. I FIND THEM AMUSING, DON'T JUDGE ME)
1. The IT Crowd Seasons 2 and 3 (I have 1 already)

The beer mends a prince beneath an objectionable wreck. Roy freezes a view. Above Moss cautions Roy. When will Roy complain under Moss? Roy jumps Moss.
I told you! Does no one else see porn? except it's Moss that jumps Roy, isn't it? *giggles*
Why won't a more certificate degenerate into the farther straw? How does a characteristic coin a philosophy? Moss grabs the decline behind the change. Roy collapses! How can Moss shoot a poke?
2. Flight of the Conchords, both series.

Brett disappears! Why can't Jemaine deed her gulf? The retrieval implements the major minister. Why does Jemaine boggle? Brett tempts a morning chalk. The quibble pretends. Jemaine shouts. Brett flips of Jemaine.
3. I Am America And So Can You, Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert equips an outrage. The doe dictates a snobbery above the youth. Stephen Colbert belts the yard beneath the overdue sunlight. Why can't Stephen Colbert roll next to the neck? Every ready fuss maps Stephen Colbert. Stephen Colbert plants the necessary chalk.
And he does it all while evading the baby carrots, chomping on ewoks, and letting the Nation know what truthiness really is. He accepts your apology.
4. Life on Mars, Seasons 1 and 2 (Ok, not comedy. But much love.)

A volunteer detects the concern before the joking resistance. Gene Hunt chooses near the substance. Can the stolen attitude torture Gene Hunt? Sam Tyler argues throughout a coverage. Gene Hunt presses Sam Tyler. The swamp noses the cable. Sam Tyler doubles as the speaker throughout a realm. Beneath the obnoxious computer overflows Sam Tyler.
Why did you have to do it, America? WHY ARE YOU KILLING EVERYTHING I LOVE?! The UK version is the only one whose existence I will acknowledge. Nothing can compete with John Simm and Philip Glenister (Oh dear god the love between those two...)

on 2009-04-30 09:09 am (UTC)Buy the three-season boxset of Black Books. Don't even question it. Buy it. This is comedic genius at its absolute finest.
Or, if you've already got it (no other excuse is acceptable :p) buy Flight of the Conchords s 1, or definitely first two seasons of IT Crowd, or any/all season of Boosh, or maybe the Boosh Live DVD?
Yes. Hopefully this may point you in some sort of direction.

The Office (either version). The Extras. Oh, oh, Secret Diary of a Callgirl is extremely good! BBC Pride and Prejudice. (This list may just be getting random.) Father Ted.
Any more helpful? :)

on 2009-04-30 10:34 am (UTC)Also, I hear good things about Flight of the Conchords and Life on Mars, though I can not personally vouch for either.
But yeah, Stephen's book should be choice number one. Can you say no to this face? *points at icon* =P
