on 2009-06-29 12:03 am (UTC)Then we've got "Teenagers," which I find pretty funny, and "Welcome To The Black Parade," which, though styled self-seriously, has lyrics I find meaningful.
I think that MCR has enough talent to produce excellent music; they just tend to let it all drown in self-seriousness and compulsive mythologizing.

on 2009-06-29 12:12 am (UTC)Dude, I am so not judging you. I quite liked the MCR album he had. I was just overexposed.
I remember now, Teenagers had a line I thought was hilarious... "now blacken your clothes, and strike a dangerous pose" SO MANY OF THE MCR FANS WERE LIKE THAT.

on 2009-06-29 12:26 am (UTC)Oh, you look like Gerard Way? *smirks* Do crowds of teenage girls/boys follow you everywhere, drooling?
(He's pretty, sure, but the level of obsession of some people, like woah. *thinks about own Brian Molko/Bowie/many other fab people obsessions* Ok, maybe on this topic I have no right to judge.)

on 2009-06-29 12:41 am (UTC)Oh, though Gerard Way has this going for him: he parties with Amanda Palmer.
