It's at times like these I welcome the zombie apocalypse

I was just checking my hotmail and one of those annoying ninemsn ads was flashing at me from the corner of the screen.

It said: Should Lindsay Keep The Baby? Vote YES or NO

So, yeah. Roll in the zombies. There is nothing you can do to us that is worse than what we do to ourselves. I'm prepared. I've seen Shaun Of The Dead, like, fifteen times. I have a baseball cricket bat. According to a charming facebook quiz, I have a 76% chance of survival.

Egads, I've got no records on hand! CDs it is. And possibly tapes (strangulation might work, right?)

Dude, I have literally two crates of vinyl to lob at their heads. We could be there for hours. Though zombies or no zombies, no one touches my Bowie or my Cure, got it? We can then resort to strangulation, and choose to pointedly ignore the fact that the dead don't breathe.

When all else fails, head to the pub (hopefully in a suitably awesome car belonging to a hated relative) with the Bowie, the bat and laptop in hand. Then you and I can happily lj away our final moments.

Because who wouldn't want the last thing they see on this earth to be a lolcat?

Fuck lolcats, I'd be too busy updating my facebook status like the tool I seem to have become. :D And ooooooohhh, I am drooling at the thought of plentiful Bowie and Cure records.

Also, the ending of Shaun of the Dead made me very sad.

I sobbed like the little baby girl I am. (That would probably be more emphatic if i wasn't, in fact, a girl.)

Just the LOVE between Simon and Nick, in Shaun and in Hot Fuzz... it kills me, because it's epic and selfless and a true platonic romance.

(And the bit where they're being a married couple for a moment? Nick gets him the beer and he's all 'thanks darling'? SO GOLD.)

I am ashamed to admit that I need to watch that film again. Only seen it once, and wasn't too impressed by the zombies, to tell the truth. I adored Hot Fuzz, so maybe I just need to give SOTD another chance...

They're both awesome, but I too prefer Hot Fuzz. Probably because I've seen enough action movies to get most of the in-jokes, while my zombie movie history is really very bare.

Still, Shaun is kinda worth it for a) Dylan Moran, b) Simon Pegg doing a beautiful heartbroken moment when he shoots his mum and c) the aforementioned married couple riff.

Also possibly the "Kill the Queen! Kill the Queen" when the jukebox starts blaring Freddy Mercury.
