First: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question.

+ Second: Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag whoever tagged you.

Have you ever lied to a teacher/boss to get out of a deadline?
I have... misled... to get out of deadlines, but I've outright lied to get out of work. It was a shitty job anyway. Don't judge me.

What kind of magazines do you read?
Film magazines, like Empire, and I quite like Rolling Stone and J-Mag (the magazine of ma fave radio station, Triple J)

Who is your current favorite singer?
Aw, no, don't ask that... um. Amanda Palmer. No, Brandon Flowers. The guy from Sigur Ros... or Win Butler! Yeah... no, wait...

What's your dream job?
To be a diplomat, or BAMF human rights lawyer, or writer.

Who is your celebrity crush and why?
I have so many, but most are more platonic crushes (Stewart, Colbert etc) but I actually would totally jump John Oliver (what's a fourteen year age difference after all?) because he is just incredibly funny, and sweet, and I'm a sucker for self-deprecation. I would also quite literally attempt to molest Noel Fielding. He's just... I don't know. It's not the skintight glittery mirrorball suits, and it's not the gorgeous androgynous hair and make-up, though they are nice. It's the Bette Davis eyes and the sweet random innocence and the way he seems to need affection so very badly.

What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Mighty Boosh, Fake News and a touch of the ST (courtesy, mainly, of [livejournal.com profile] emiime )

What are you reading right now?
Franny and Zooey (J.D. Salinger) and dropping in and out of bloody War and Peace. I read Anna Karenina no probs, but this one is a dense mofo. I love you, Tolstoy, but you don't make these things easy.

What are you most excited for?
I am... remarkably unexcited. About anything. And I'm not unhappy about it. I just don't get very excited. Well, when I'm not on the interwebs chatting with you mad people, something about you all makes me crazy :D but usually I'm chronically laid back. Stoners think I'm too relaxed. I'm a total pushover.

What websites do you always visit when you go online?
Hotmail, facebook, ffffound.com, livejournal, textsfromlastnight.com

What was the last thing you bought?
A mug. With Tintin on it. Because I could.

What was the cutest thing you've seen today?
Today I studied for like four hours straight on torts and went to see Inglourious Basterds. Cute doesn't really factor. Actually... no, wait, we went to a fathers day breakfast and had pancakes and there was a puppy  =D

Does the weather affect your mood?
Yes, but unpredictably. Sometimes warm weather makes me happy, sometimes it makes me tired, sometimes rain is a bitch and other times I skip through it like it's made of crack and I'm the ultimate junkie.

What is your zodiac sign?
Aries

Do you want to learn another language?
I knew some Italian, once. Oh so long ago. And I know a handful of French and Japanese and lots of German swearwords, but I would love to be fluent in another language.

5 things you can't live without:
My people (as it were; friends, family), music, books, chocolate, the internet.

What's the meaning of life?
42

What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
It occurs to me that Mondays are a terrible way to spend one-seventh of our lives.

If you weren't doing this meme, what would you be doing instead?
Defences to Private Nuisance

Say something to the person who tagged you:
I LOVE YOU! Your writing makes me happy in my pants. No, seriously, I love our conversations. We plot bunnies like there ain't gonna be a tomorrow and I love it.

Because I'm a maverick, and chronically indecisive, I don't want to pick eight people... instead, I tag everyone who reads this! You've been warned! If you read, you're tagged!

Ah, private nuisance. I well remember you. You unrelenting bastard. Personally, I spent today sticking millions of post its in the Wrongs Act, and learning about personal injury compensation. Huzzah! Time well spent.

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)

You and your different Acts with their different names, confusing me! Is that negligence or intentional tort or what?

at least you did work. I did, like, none. Arrgh.

[identity profile] huntingsnarks.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You totally just said you spent four hours on torts!! I heard/read you! And I guess you guys have a... civil liabilities (?) act? It's like, the one and only legislative happy fun guide for torts. It's negligence, mainly.

Negligence = funny stories, but the words 'reasonable foreseeability' and 'reasonable person' are starting to kill me.

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)

I said I spent four hours on it, I didn't say I learned anything.

Yeah, we have a Civil Liabilities Act. Oh, negligence. We did that last semester. You will want to kill anyone who mentions the word "reasonable", and that's nothing compared to what you're going to want to do to Lord damn Atkins and his bloody Neighbour Principle.

[identity profile] huntingsnarks.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, don't be dissing the Neighbour Principle - that's the one solid duty of care principle there seems to be. Fucking proximity/salient features/other high court wank. (The subject does not anger/confuse me at all.)

We did torts in the reverse to you guys, I guess. We experienced the unending joy of trespass and private nuisance and all that jazz last semester.

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)

No wonder we used to confuse each other :D I just assumed we'd learn the same stuff. Stupidly.

[identity profile] kitsunesan.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, I love you more! *snuggles* And how seriously awesome was Inglorious Basterds? If WWII really ended that way, I would have paid in history class instead of spent the time drawing comics and pining for the girl sitting next to me. XD

Speaking of plotting, how's the record store fic going, huh? Huh? Huh? *eager like a puppy* Also, have I whined at you about Symphony yet? I only have one idea for where to take it and conflicting opinions about whether or not it's a good idea. (re: Mine, and everyone else's. XP) And I hate leaving a story unattended, even if it means I pr0n like crazy in the mean time, apparently. XD

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, Inglourious Basterds - it was an interesting film, and seeing it with the people I did was also... interesting. I might do a post about it tonight, just as an excuse to put teh pretteh pics all over my journal. The guy who played Landa was amazing, and also... ELI ROTH. OMFG.

Record store fic has prgressed in dot point form. I'm trying to work out an arc ahead of time otherwise I will get lost as I always do. But you must tell me about Symphony! What is this idea? We must get this back on track! (Not that I object to the pr0ns, of course)

[identity profile] kitsunesan.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Eli Roth FTW! Man, I enjoyed that movie. Oh, Tarantino. XD

If you need a sounding board to help work some stuff out, I'd be more than happy to volunteer! I'm so excited for that story, you have no idea. :D

I'm about to rush off, but I'll try to remember to toss you an email when I get home to give you the gist of what I've been thinking about and what the objections to it have been. Hopefully I'll either come up with something else, or find a way to make it work. :p

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)

Sounds good :D

[identity profile] alivemagdolene.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
FOUND! How I love it so!

[identity profile] happymediocrity.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Would that icon happen to be Pastafarian? Because, if so... RAmen.

[identity profile] alivemagdolene.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It would indeed! ^_^ It's my Baltimore icon (that's an actual-factual sign in Baltimore)! If'n you don't know (many don't), "BELIEVE" appears in signs all over the city and this was one artist's awesome twisting of the slogan, which I then had to have a picture of.

[identity profile] happymediocrity.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
that's fantastic. ^_^

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)

:DDD I know, right? It's like a lucky dip of awesomeness

[identity profile] emiime.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Pfft, I take no blame. You're the one who posted that awesome prompt in the first place!

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-06 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)

Blame? More like credit!

Actually, maybe a bit of blame... I've been being insane on the kink meme. I've been using actual shakespeare dialogue. o.O

[identity profile] emiime.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Heeee! I haven't been to the kink meme in...gah, forever. My vacation fucked up my ritual daily visits. Which is maybe good because I have WAY too big a backlog right now...

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 05:51 am (UTC)(link)

IT'S GROWN LIKE A MONSTER. You are wise to avoid it. I've ended up doing this (http://community.livejournal.com/st_xi_kink/8893.html?thread=26505405#t26505405) and seriously I think I've tripped the fine line to the wrong side of crazy.

[identity profile] emiime.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
ASLFHALSKFH WHAT THAT LOOKS EPIC. IF HAROLD AND KUMAR LET UP FOR FIVE SECONDS I WILL TREAT MYSELF TO IT. ILUSM.

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)

IT STARTED AS A JOKE. NOW IDK WHAT TO DO.

Seriously, though, what is the spaceship equivalent of a balcony? o.O

[identity profile] emiime.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
...the observation deck?

Seriously I have no idea. D:

[identity profile] greenpixiehair.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)

Jeffries tubes have been suggested to me. I realised I don't actually know what they are.

[identity profile] emiime.livejournal.com 2009-09-08 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Jefferies tubes are:

1. Scotty's way of having sex with the Enterprise.
2. A useful place for secret trysts and/or accidental lovemaking amongst crew members (see also: Chekov/Sulu).
3. Maintainence access tubes used by engineering (see also: 1.)
