I just finished reading Unseen Academicals, which reminded me just how much I adore Terry Pratchett, who caused what is probably a lifelong love affair with deadpan wordplay, the pathological subversion of cliches, fantasy satire and the art of the footnote. It also reminded me that he is... not well, and not going to get better. Which makes me sad. Really, deeply sad.

Terry Pratchett is my absolute favourite author. UA is sitting next to me, just waiting until I have time to not do anything for a long time, because I don't want to have to put it down in the middle.

But! He is doing better then he could be! But still very sad.

It really is sad. :( I recently started his Discworld series and, as you know, it's positively brilliant. I've heard that this one is a bit... different. how unfortunate. :(
