Even though there are so many things I should be doing right now (To that person I owe fic to: I'm sorry! I'm almost done, I swear!), I'm going to steal a meme from [info]warriorpoet because I have no self control.

A line from 25 random songs. Guess the title and artist. Comments are screened for now so everyone can have a shot at everything. I'm putting your username next to the ones you get right in the meantime :D Googling makes Baby Jesus cry.

I'm taking 'random' to mean put my itunes on shuffle. This may be embarrassing. Don't judge me.

1. Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste. ([livejournal.com profile] warriorpoet )

2. I've been down across a road or two, but now I've found the velvet sun that shines on me and you.

3. Fill the cavity and you're a God-shaped hole tonight, for what it's worth.

4. And I recall in spring the perfume that the air would bring to the indolent town.

I am dying. Possibly dead. I'll get back to you on that one. On the other hand, I'm also wearing very little. Lucky you, eh?

Seriously, it's 43 degrees here. (110 Farenheit, for you strange people who measure temperature in your strange units)

DYING.

Meme answers!

This took way longer than it should have, because it appears my brain has taken several months sick leave. I couldn't finish everyone I got given, but I'll post Vince and Howard soon. The TDS peeps are a strange blend of real and character... I didn't realise my mind-canon was such a contradictory mess of ideas :D

(Aaaand...I am so exhausted now, I'm just going to collapse into sleep.)

It's meme time!

Because let's be honest, when you owe lots of amazing people fic and are swamped with uni assignments, there's is only one way to spend your time. Procrastinating.

First, from the delightful [livejournal.com profile] trustingno1 :

Name a character from one of my fandoms and I'll give you:

(a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon
(b) a reason he/she sucks
(c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes
(d) five things that never happened to that character and/or
(e) five people that character never fell in love with and why

And courtesy of the gorgeous [livejournal.com profile] huntingsnarks :

Spin the bottle, pick a victim )

And some Bowie, just because I can.

First: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question.

+ Second: Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag whoever tagged you.

It occurs to me that Mondays are a terrible way to spend one-seventh of our lives. )

Because I'm a maverick, and chronically indecisive, I don't want to pick eight people... instead, I tag everyone who reads this! You've been warned! If you read, you're tagged!

Under the cut are a series of categories. I give you a person I know you love and you give me a photo of that person that applies to each thing.

Ok, so both [livejournal.com profile] iamashamed and [livejournal.com profile] kitsunesan gave me Ollie, which I took as a clear sign to get two pics for each category and DRENCH YOU WITH THE ADORKABLE BRITISH LOVE.

Being on trial at a new job is terrible. It sucks the joy out of everything, cos you're always worrying. I'm not a worrying type person. What I do is I procrastinate and then I panic. That's an entirely different way of doing things. And then at least you have the post-terror adrenalin rush.

Enough complaining.

Anyway, if anyone needed proof that fandom has invaded my life and taken root in my brain in cruel and unusual ways, I was watching an adaptation of Sense and Sensibility on TV and found myself mentally casting it with fakenews people, and then got irrationally frustrated when I couldn't make up my mind. And then got calmed down again by David Morrisey's patented Best Small Sad/Resigned Smile In the World.

I considered Jon and Stephen as the two sisters, because the dynamic works, but then I couldn't find someone to be Stephen's Colonel Brandon. Hmmm. Who is Brandon-ish? Besides, I don't like splitting up Stephen/Jon. CONUNDRUM.

So yeah, that's what goes on in my head. o.O

In other news...
I finally finished some of the Top Fives requested of me, which I present as secondary proof of my complete surrender and submission to fandom. [personal profile] oni_butterfly jumped on it with requests about favourite Bugles, drinks and animal pics, and then my fave OTP's, which almost blew my tiny mind and I had to split into two parts. Then [livejournal.com profile] iamashamed asked for my top five Jon/Stephen moments, and finally my dear [livejournal.com profile] emiime wanted to know why chekov/Sulu is so totally canon.

Ask me my top five anything, and I'll reply in comments. Hopefully with pictures. Or music. Or both. Or if there isn't any, we can just pretend there is, and no one but us will ever know...

Or I might just put this in:

Because Amanda Fucking Palmer is always relevant.

The "You Should Write..." Meme!
my thread here

(Why am I doing this? I don't know. o.O I have no writing talent.

NEVERMIND. Pimp this thing cos it's awesome.)
girlanachronism: an animated list of reason why I no longer have an appropriate icon (Default)

I got a job this week (cue insane celebrating! yee hah!) which means I'll be able to buy all those lovely, lovely things that I definitely don't need and even more definitely WANT LIKE BURNING. I may single handedly save the little record store in town... I'm going to buy so much vinyl they'll feel the aftershocks in Canada. And don't ask me how that works, it's a perfectly gorgeous, expressive, and utterly useless nonsensical metaphor that doesn't really serve its purpose but I won't hear a word against it.

Apart from that, not a lot else happening, and that's the way I like it. I saw The Hangover for a second time because I'm a doormat and my friends hadn't seen it, and walked out incredibly relieved that it was still funny enough to be enjoyable the second time. I  just have such a love for Ed Helms in that, and it's not even because of the TDS connection, since he was on way before my time. I just think he's adorable. And I have such a kink for funny, nervous, mistreated characters. "She beats you!" "That was only twice, and I was out of line..." I have not yet seen HP or Bruno, and don't really mind if it stays that way. The trailers have made me book Public Enemies, Inglorious Basterds and that new Sherlock Holmes one into my near future. Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr bickering like and old married couple is love.

Some family friends are in England at the moment. The youngest is seven and emailed me to say they're in Camden and she's looking out for Noel Fielding for me, and if she sees him she'll give him my phone number. That's why I love kids :D

I find it disproportionately hilarious that the show "Supernatural" starts  with a warning containing the words 'this show may contain supernatural themes...' MAY? May contain supernatural themes? Oh, ok then, if there's only a chance I might risk it...

Oh, and it's meme time again:

Comment and I'll give you five words that remind me of you. Then, you post these five words on your journal and explain them.

More questions! I feel loved and confused and violated all at once. So, clearly, you're all doing an excellent job. COMMENCE THE INTERROGATION!

Actually, scratch that. After all, I have it from a reliable source that if you ever find yourself in the power of someone who uses the word 'commence' in cold blood, go somewhere else very  quickly. If they say 'enter', don't stop to pack. Genre savvy, I believe they call it.

Aw, hell. Commence away. And enter, too.
